The Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain - Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez, paying an official visit to Georgia along with the delegation visited the Service Agency of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Giorgi Butkhuzi together with the Director of Service Agency – Besik Tepnadze and other heads of the unit hosted the guests at the Service Agency. The delegation was accompanied by the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain - Ilia Giorgadze.
The members of the Spanish delegation got acquainted with the specifics of the work of the Service Agency on the spot, the categories and the procedure for issuing Georgian driving licenses, as well as the services the Agency offers to the citizens. The guests also got familiarized with the existing infrastructure of the Agency.
Within the framework of the visit, yesterday the Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Spain met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia. Vakhtang Gomelauri talked about the signing of the agreement on mutual recognition of driving licenses between the parties and emphasized that as a result of the amendments implemented in the national legislation of Georgia, the Georgian driving licenses were harmonized with the EU standards.
